Clinical Immunology summarizes immune overreactions to antigens, including environmental antigens, pathogens, and self antigens. It shows how the same immune responses that normally eliminate pathogens with minimal damage to the body can cause disease under certain circumstances. The unit also deals with clinical modification of immune responses by medications that suppress or stimulate immunity.
