Immunology 519/419H

Learning Objectives: Antigen Processing and Presentation

Reading Assignment: Janeway et al. Immunobiology Ch 5

Supplementary Materials: MHC,   TCR,   ToolBox

TCR only binds antigen peptides that are presented on Class I or Class II MHC. T cells are specialized to recognize cytosolic pathogens (presented on Class I MHC to CD8 T cells) or extracellular/vesicular pathogens (presented on Class II MHC to CD4 T cells). This unit describes the organization and inheritance of MHC genes and antigen processing and presentation

The Learning Objectives pages list the key concepts you should know from each section of the course. You are also expected to know the words bolded in the text. In addition to Immunobiology by Janeway et al., study aids include online Tutorials with study questions and a ToolBox containing a Glossary, Reading and Writing About Immunology, and information about immunological techniques.
