The University of Arizona

VSC/MIC(Ag) General Education Courses

Students in Veterinary Science and in Microbiology (Ag) can choose from the below list to complete their General Education requirements. The list is based on the list the College of Agriculture has approved, however, it has been updated and extended. Courses which are listed in your SAPRs but not in this list are either not taught anymore or are replaced by the respective departmental requirement. Courses which are not listed in the COA-approved list (on your SAPR's) have been put in brackets. These courses have been identified by the department and can substitute for college-approved courses in the respective study area. Please contact an advisor if you would like to take one of these courses.

If you would like to take one of the listed upper-division courses please contact the instructor in order to make sure that you are appropriately prepared to succeed. Instructors' names are listed in the schedule of classes and you can get their phone numbers through their department or the UA Phone Directory.

Courses labeled with "*" are not always available to VSC and MIC majors, please get the permission to enroll from the instructor.

Specifically recommended courses are labeled in red.

For the availability of specific courses during the summer see the UA summer program.

CAUTION!! - If you would like to take one of the listed upper-division courses please contact the catalog and/or instructor in order to make sure that you are appropriately prepared to succeed. In courses labeled with "*" you can ONLY enroll through the instructor.

Please see an advisor if you would like help with this. The COA list of GenEd courses was compiled for a reason, however, if presented with reasonable suggestions your advisor will be happy to make the necessary adjustments. We support you in any way we can to get yourself an education which optimally suits your needs and interests.
